Westlife pharmacy brings retail and wholesale under one roof with Intaila
November 22, 2025 Lagos, Nigeria
The team at Westlife wholesale pharmacy chain finally pulled the trigger on a major tech overhaul this month. After weeks of testing, the group has moved its entire wholesale and retail operation onto the Intaila platform as of mid-November.
It’s a move that’s been on the cards for a while.
Westlife had been struggling with a common headache in the sector: running one system for the big warehouse and a completely different one for their street shops.
Why Intaila? Talking to folks on the ground, it seems the decision came down to a few specific headaches that Intaila fixed for them:
The "expiry date" problem: This is huge for wholesalers. If you’re sitting on pallets of meds that expire in six months, you need to move them fast. Intaila apparently lets Westlife spot these batches instantly and push them out to their busiest shops before they become unsellable waste.
Splitting the pack: Most software hates it when you break a box to sell a single blister strip. Intaila handles the fractional math without messing up the inventory count, which is a big deal for the retail side.
Smart wholesale pricing: Managing bulk discounts used to be a nightmare of manual calculations. Now, the system automates the tiered pricing structure. It stops sales staff from accidentally giving away too much margin just to close a deal.
Early numbers look good. The management says stock errors are already down by about 24%. “Honestly, judging by its track record and capabilities, Intaila looks like the best pharmacy software in Nigeria” the manager told us.
